A Summary
Logline: Friend, confidant, advice giver and upright Christian woman Abbie Landers must come to terms with issues in her own life as an addiction to pain pills threatens to tear her world apart.
Abbie Landers is a good, solid Christian woman – insightful, helpful to a fault, kind and generous. Her marriage to Dr. Michael Landers is a happy one, and the couple’s young daughter Millie is adorable. As a teacher, Abbie often counsels students and co-workers, and her level headed approach to problem solving has earned her the nickname “Dear Abbie. All is well in her world until one stormy night when a driving rain sends her car careening into a tree and leaves Abbie with painful neck and shoulder injuries.
During the weeks of recovery that follow, Abbie slowly comes to depend on the pain pills prescribed to her for her injuries and discovers they help her cope with all the stress in her life. When her body heals, Abbie finds herself unwilling to give up her medication and the deception begins.
