Bliss
A Summary
Logline: Cursed by a voodoo queen, his slave-child lover Marie Badeux, Jean-Pierre Badeux is forced to roam his dying estate for eternity. More than 150 years after his death, he can only look on as his descendants turn his beloved plantation home into a low-grade tourist trap.
Jean-Pierre Badeux did not live a good life and, by consequence, did not die a good
death. The overly proud slave owner, in the tradition of many slave owners, took a
young slave as a lover and then became abusive when she announced her pregnancy.
T’is a shame then, that his child lover grew to become one of the most renowned
Voodoo Queens in the world. And her first and most famous curse started with him.
More than 150 years later, Jean-Pierre’s ghost roams his dying land, forever stuck in
place. He is miserable for the realization that his beloved plantation has been turned
into a cheap roadside attraction, complete with a low-grade bar and grill that was once
the slave quarters.
Tourists passively visit Bliss as the descendants exploit the infamy of Marie Badeux, the
Voodoo Queen. Run by ‘Daddy’ Badeux and his gay  daughter Miriam, the Bliss
Plantation struggles to keep its head above financial waters.
But when a ghost hunting team arrives to spend a night in the plantation home, a series
of events is at a start, events that will forever change what it means to haunt and to be
haunted.
Bliss is a suspenseful bit of comedy told from the perspective of the ghost who has
come to learn how impossibly unending a curse can be.  Set in modern times and in
beautiful, deep south Louisiana, Bliss entertains, informs and provides for a good jolt
here and there.
Bliss is prepped for a 10-episode arc that leads into a full on Voodoo witch war to the
end of the first season. The episodes are clearly designed to keep the audience riveted
and coming back for more. Or could easily be adapted into feature script.
A unique premise. The script creates an interesting weaving of the past and present
tied with a lot of energy and incredible characters. Scary and fascinating."                             - Thriller /Suspense Film Festival
