Jazz Music
A Summary
Logline:  A lonesome loser befriends and falls in love with Jazz Music, an impossibly named eccentric who attaches herself to his quiet little life with a curious bit of passion.
Single dork Wilkie Collins Fiske lives the untethered life of a man who knows not what he's really missing because he has never had much in his life to miss. Having no more than a bland job, a bland home and a bland outlook on life, Wilkie barely remembers what it ever really meant to care or love or to even dream of love. A random encounter, however, sets a fast falling line of dominoes into play, as, out of the blue, he meets, befriends and falls in love with a highly eccentric woman who charges into his hum-drum life with all the vibrancy and color in the world.  With her ever changing appearance and odd love for hitch-hiking from place to place, happy-go-lucky Jazz seems to live life on some unseen edge, drawing Wilkie out of his own shell and teaching him, for the first time in his life, what it means to live and love. But when tragedy strikes, the reality of her past and who she really is comes rushing into play, overwhelming Wilkie's untried heart. Who is this woman who calls herself  "Jazz Music"? Where did she come from? What makes her so reckless and carefree? What strange and deep, dark secret haunts her every step?  Set in present day anywhere, Jazz Music is a love story that examines the limits of the unpracticed heart and the trials of overcoming the hurdles of a devastating past.
"The script moves quickly because the characters are so likable. The story builds to a very emotional conclusion, ends on a moment that is reminiscent of Charlie Chaplin's City Lights." - New York Screenplay Festival  Honorable Mention, Los Angeles Movie Awards, 2014. Silver Award, Best Feature Screenplay, California Film Awards, 2016
